Lindsay McWhorter

Lindsay McWhorter

Certified Legal Document Preparer - AZCLDP #81828

Lindsay began her career in the legal field over 8 years ago working as a legal assistant for a law firm.  Within several years, she was promoted to work as a paralegal, which allowed her to prepare legal documents under the supervision of an attorney.  After a couple of years of paralegal work focused on Estate Planning and Family Law, she desired to expand her opportunities as an Arizona Certified Legal Document Preparer (AZCLDP).  An AZCLDP is licensed and regulated through the Arizona Supreme Court and allowed to prepare legal documents independently from an attorney. While a legal document preparer cannot give legal advice or strategy, they can provide factual information and options. As a result, Lindsay is able to prepare and execute Trusts and other legal documents and contracts that fit the need of Irontree’s clients.

Outside of work, Lindsay enjoys spending time with her husband and children traveling, wakeboarding/surfing, snow skiing, and hiking.

Lindsay also volunteers as President over the youth under the age of 12 at her local church congregation.

Tax Consultant

Blaine Vance

Blaine Vance

EA - Tax

Hundreds of financial advisors throughout Arizona and the Western states know E. Blaine Vance as their instructor and mentor.  As an adjunct professor for the University of Phoenix and Western International University, he taught and inspired hundreds of financial professionals working to achieve their Certified Financial Planner® designation.  As one of the early recipients of the CFP® designation (1985) he brought years of experience to the classroom.  He wrote the textbook on Retirement Planning used for many years.  As an Enrolled Agent with the Internal Revenue Service, he brought practical, real-world experience from his tax practice to his presentations.  While he taught all six disciplines (Financial Planning, Retirement Planning, Income Tax Planning, Risk Management, Investment Management, and Estate Planning) he was especially noted for his understanding of Estate Planning.

In January of 2003, Blaine took a “hiatus” from teaching and personal financial planning to increase his experience, knowledge and skills when he accepted an appointment to be the Chief Deputy Treasurer for the Treasurer’s Office of the State of Arizona.  In that position Mr. Vance oversaw the operation of the Treasury, answering directly to the State Treasurer, performing the duties of the Treasurer in times of his absence.  At the request of the Arizona State Legislature to the State Treasurer’s Office, he personally directed a review of the Arizona 529 plan, which resulted in major changes to the plan.   He served as a statutory member of the Arizona College Savings Oversight Committee.  He sat on the Greater Arizona Development Authority (GADA) and the Water Infrastructure Financing Authority (WIFA).  During his tenure, he interfaced with and signed every bond offering made by an agency in the State of Arizona.  His greatest passion was supervising and directly participating in the management of over $11.5 Billion in Arizona State Treasury funds.  One exciting memory he has is his first $1 Billion trade.  Even though it was an extremely short duration investment (3 days – over a week-end), he said he checked his paperwork three times before he “pushed the DONE button” on the trade.  After four years, Blaine left the Treasury.

Blaine and his wife, Karen (both native Arizonans) live in Mesa.  They enjoy music, dancing, and spending time with their children.  Their motto is, “Come grow old with me, the best is yet to be.”

Blaine Vance is completely separate from Irontree Investment Management and is used strictly for tax consulting for Irontree Investment Management and its clients. Blaine Vance offers no investment advice to any of Irontree Investment Management’s clients.
